Have you ever driven by a sign for a small roadside store? Maybe one that's attached to someones house? Well, there is a sign on Rt 83, it will be on your left if you're heading towards CT, and it says "The Apple Place". If you are like me at all, you might feel a little hesitation about pulling into someones driveway to look at apples and cider donuts.
Well here is a word of advice, pull in anyway! This place is so cute, I am thrilled that we decided to pull in! The "store" consists of three buildings , one filled with reasonably priced knick knacks, a second filled with a modest amount of fresh produce, and the third is a small bake shop, with a good variety of pastries and both hot and iced coffee!
Even though the pastries are a little bit on the expensive side, I would still recommend that you stop in, if for nothing else than to experience the charm of this cute little roadside gem! On a side note, don't go for the chocolate orange bars, unless you like your pastries very dry and crumbly!
