What a wonderful day! We decided to head to Frankfort today, Kentucky's capital. As usual, we took the back roads, no highway driving for us if we can help it!
On our way, the first thing we ran across was the tin man, who stands outside of a radiator company on Rt.60, just before Frankfort.
Next, we came cross Smitty's trading post. This awesome little collection of stuff was too cool to keep driving by. We hoped we would be able to see what the inside looks like, but no-one was there to let us in. There was a number on the door, but when Lena called , we were told that the man who runs it has been sick, so it hasn't been open. Hey, at least we tried!
As we continued on our little journey, we came upon an amazing view of the capital building.
Then we headed down into the main part of town, where we found the Frankfort cemetery. It was really beautiful there, and we even got to see Daniel Boone's grave.
Our last stop in Frankfort was the large flower clock located behind the capital building. By the time we got there, it had begun raining, so our pictures had to be taken from the car, but we still got a good shot.
After the flower clock, we headed back to the house. We had some Papa Johns pizza for dinner, which is pretty awesome, because we don't have Papa Johns at home anymore!
We ended our day by painting our own beautiful pictures to help decorate our room.
Now, its off to bed. I'm hoping that tomorrow we will make it to Louisville, but we will have to see what the day brings.
Till then...
